Hello!! Welcome to my Gallery. Here you will find bright, colourful, modern, contempory Fine Art in Oils,
watercolor, pastels (whatever takes my fancy), which I hope you will enjoy. Unfortunately all my Original artwork in this website was destroyed in the bushfires which swept thru Nth
East Tasmania on 11th Dec last year. I lost my home, Gallery/Restaurant and a lifetime of work! All I have left
are the images in this webpage. Fortunately I can still produce Fine Art Prints as I had also sent all the images in this
webpage to the printers. I can't start to explain how I feel or what it is like to loose
every thing in a matter of an hour or so within this space so I will be adding a blog in a day or two so I can keep my friends
up to date with what is going on in my life. If you are interested please feel free to drop in and have a read or add a comment. And
of couirse you can always order a print or two lol! I have to buy new brushes, paint and canvas so I can start all over
again! Please don't think I am feeling sorry for myself as I don't! I have my life, wonderful friends and family and
I live in the midst of the most thoughtful and caring people in the world! OK enuf dribble....back to the serious stuff. Browse through the different galllerys,
join our club or email me a message.....whatever makes you happy within these eather walls. The Gallery pages can be accessed
through the navigation bar or link directly from the images on this page. Once in the gallery clic on a thumbnail to get a
larger image in a seperate screen. But please be a little patient as it may take a few seconds. I will be loading
new images when I get back to painting, (haven't been able to face it yet), so remember to put the site in your
faves. Some of the works are available as limited edition Fine Art prints. Only a hundred prints of any painting will
be produced. Go to the sales link for more information. Paypal will also be fully intergrated with this site
shortly. I will be having guest artists from time to time and also sculpture gallery to come. Please let me know what
you think but most of all.................Welcome to Life as seen by me!
Is art meant to mean anything? Should
it mean any thing? Is it purely decorative or should it portray some deep and all pervading meaning of life? Who know!
I do think that art is a form of communication though.
And YES my art is emotive!
But I don’t set out to paint an image with the mindset “Ah
what am I going to say today” I simply start making marks on the canvas and let the work develop as it will. Often I
am motivated by an emotion I am feeling, or a story I have heard, or something I have seen, but that is just the starting
point. I then pull out the images that I see within the marks and colour that are on the canvas. But the work does have control,
to a degree, in its creation. Some images are always within my work, such as eyes, faces and often birds, but the most consistent
influence is people and the emotions inherent within our interaction with each other and the world we live in.
I make no apologies for this fact!
If you would like to leave a comment or sign our guest book please clic on the link. Clic on the picture to
join the community as well and you will be able to join in the chat or play on the message boards we don't mind! You
will be asked to become a member but that will put you on the mailing list for news of new work and up coming featured artists
etc. We do not share this information with any one else and we suggest you close your email address to all but the manager.
My work is surreal and spontaneous with intense colour, which I have
a passion for, and yes it has meaning for me but I don’t really expect the viewer to see the same things I do. But I
do want interaction between the viewer and the work. I don’t care if you love it or hate it just so long as you can’t
ignore it! I want to stimulate a dialogue between the viewer and the work and in turn, between the viewer and myself as the
artist or creator. I want to enthral and intrigue the mind of the person looking at my images. I see myself as an illusionist
if any thing. I use pigment and oil in such a way that the viewer sees what I want them to see. A three dimensional image
on a flat surface that obviously has a meaning but what is the meaning?
I want to stimulate the queries ………………”what does it
mean? Does it mean any thing? What is being communicated here?” All these questions ………and more!
SO what do you think?
